About Me

Hi, I’m Emily. You can call me Emme (pronounced Em).

Most of us are carrying more than we should have to carry alone. My work is about creating a space where you don’t have to. Together we’ll explore how your relationships with yourself, your body, and the people in your life might be helping you thrive, holding you back, or causing you pain. My hope is that through that exploration, you find more freedom, more connection, and a deeper sense of who you are.

My Approach

I think of us as whole people with minds, bodies, and souls, and that a lot of what drives our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors happens below the surface, outside of our conscious awareness. Those hidden patterns develop for good reasons. But when they stop serving us (or start hurting us), it can be really hard to find our way out on our own. That’s where therapy comes in.

My approach weaves together two complementary frameworks:

Depth-oriented psychodynamic psychotherapy looks inward and backward to help you move forward. We explore the roots of what you’re carrying: early relationship patterns, unresolved conflicts, and the inner dynamics that might be running the show.

Somatic therapy brings the body into the room. Stress, trauma, and emotion don’t just live in our heads…they live in our bodies too. Sometimes our body knows what our mind hasn’t yet found words for. By tuning into physical sensation alongside thought and feeling, we access a fuller picture of your experience.

Together, these approaches help you build self-awareness, process what you’ve been through, and move toward genuine healing.

My Experience

I’m a counseling intern currently pursuing two Master’s degrees at The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology: one in Counseling Psychology and the other in Theology & Culture. While I can see childhood threads directing me toward this work, the path didn’t fully come into focus until my own life went through some significant upheaval. My personal experience in therapy has been life-changing, and it’s given me both a deep respect for this process and a real sense of honor in being invited into it with others. I know what it feels like to sit on that couch, and I don’t take lightly the courage it takes to show up.

Life in Boise

Outside of the therapy room, you’ll usually find me with teenage daughters, soaking up time with family and friends, or out on a walk. And I’m not above spending hours on end watching a great TV series. I believe in rest, and I make plenty of space for it.
