About Me

Hello, I’m Abraham Oros, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Boise, Idaho. With over 27 years of personal and professional experience in the mental health field, I’m committed to helping individuals overcome life’s challenges through compassionate, evidence-based counseling.

My own journey began when I found myself feeling stuck—uncertain about how to move forward. That turning point led me to seek therapy, and it changed my life. Through the support of skilled counselors and caring communities, I experienced deep healing and personal growth. Now, I’m passionate about helping others find their path toward greater well-being and fulfillment.

My Approach

As a Boise-based therapist, my approach is rooted in Adlerian Therapy, a client-centered and goal-oriented counseling method that emphasizes understanding your unique life experiences and perspective. This therapy style encourages personal growth by helping clients explore their values, beliefs, goals, and relationships.

In addition to Adlerian Therapy, I integrate a variety of evidence-based practices, including:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Mindfulness-based interventions

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, or relationship challenges, our work will start with creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel seen and supported. Together, we’ll explore your strengths, address what’s holding you back, and help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

My Experience

I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling from Boise State University, with a specialization in addiction. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a wide range of mental health concerns, including: Substance use and addiction, Anxiety and depression, Attachment and relationship issues, Life transitions and identity concerns.  Through both research and direct experience, I’ve learned that the strength of the therapist-client relationship is one of the most powerful factors in successful therapy. My goal is to create a supportive and trusting environment where you feel safe to explore, grow, and heal.

Life in Boise

Since moving to Boise in 2000, I’ve fallen in love with the region’s natural beauty and abundant outdoor activities. When I’m not working with clients, you’ll often find me hiking, running, or mountain biking on Boise’s extensive trail systems. In the winter months, I enjoy skiing and snowboarding—just a short drive from the city. Boise has truly become home.
